The Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches have just published the May 2011 housing report.   Here is the link:  . Get the reports

 For May 2011, Palm Beach County Closed Sales are up +21.5% while the Median Sales Price is down -12.5% and the change in Inventory of homes on the market for sale is down -32%.   That means that the Months Supply of Inventory was down 48.0 % to 7.8 months supply (it was a 2 year supply in 2008).      

Nationally, interest rates dropped to 4.88% on a 30-year fixed rate loan which helps the Affordability Index which was at 186 for May 2011 .. An index of 120 means the median household income was 120% of what is necessary to qualify for the median-priced home under prevailing interest rate.   A higher number means greater affordability.
